The magical land of Aequon is dying. None of the seasonal rituals to revive Ariella, the sovereign spirit of Aequon, have healed her. Elves wither along with the crops, and sprites fall from the air in mid-flight. Even the sturdy humans have begun to take ill. When the ageless Sybil foretells of a legendary hero destined to save them, all the village’s people speculate on the identity of the chosen one. Is it the champion fighter? Perhaps there’s a secret child of a goddess. Who will become a legend? Three misfit students discover that anyone can become a hero if they are willing to stand up and choose themselves.
Overview: In this three-part fantasy, the usual pre-destined magical savior never shows up. It’s up to the common folks to save the day. Follow along as an insecure healer, a disgraced thief, and an awkward wizard face a quest through magical lands, mythical foes, and epic battles. They’ll use their wits as they try to save their home and become the stuff of legends.
Pick Your Protagonist: Active listeners can choose their path (Healer, Thief, or Wizard) and their gender.
Excerpt: I watched the Sybil at her desk, eyes closed with her hands clasped in her lap. Her aura flashed a deep crimson before it subsided back into her typical blue-green peace. She possessed the perfect fortune-teller stance. Regal and intimidating, it allowed no further discussion. But, truly, how long was she going to sit like that? Fifty-five seconds already. Backing out of the room, I tripped on my robe and flailed my arm into an ancient urn. Even my sharp curse as I saved the old pot didn’t ruffle the Sybil. Cursed kittens! I would never be that calm or centered. Whatever was out beyond Aequon would devour me. Why the Goddess did I volunteer for this quest?
