Original main theme soundtrack by Carbon Based Lifeforms
Humans have ventured to the stars, reaching beyond their terrestrial existence and expanding through the solar system. However, Earth is not the shining jewel many thought it would be. The rich and affluent were among the first to flee, seeking out new opportunities and trying to find ways to save humankind’s home from ecological disaster. Torben is a young man struggling to survive under the thumb of a local crime lord, stuck with his feet firmly rooted in Earth’s soil. He believes his destiny and hope for a future resides on Mars, but first he needs to get there.
Genre: Science fiction
Overview: Green Land brings you along Torben’s journey as he struggles to survive in his impoverished homeland and tries to find a way off the planet. He is determined that his entire life could change if he could just manage to get on board one of the transport shuttles. The path he chooses to achieve his dreams will drastically affect the outcome, as he faces the consequences of his choices.
Excerpt: I refused to give in, fighting until I could only scream. The rumbling around me drowned out any sound I made, masking it behind metal shaking in its frame. Was this normal? Would the entire shuttle come apart from the stress? I didn’t realize going into space would be so painful. And then it stopped. The sudden relief of pressure was more euphoric than anything I had ever experienced. I took a deep breath, amazed at how it felt. The pain kept me from realizing I couldn’t breathe, so the sharp intake of air surprised me. I closed my eyes and savored the moment of being alive. My eyes watered and when I opened them, a couple of small drops floated in front of me. Perfect small spheres floating in the air, untethered by gravity. I watched, transfixed, as they floated through the air. I was floating too.
