Wanderword was founded in 2018 by gaming industry veterans Peter Zetterberg and Thomas Lindgren, backed by Jacob Dalborg, the former Bonnier Books CEO and Peter Levin, another Swedish game industry veteran. The business idea, interactive audio entertainment, was sprung out of a hobby project Peter Zetteberg has worked on since 2012. Wanderword is the market leader in interactive audio engagement with a combination of its patent based platform and editor and its interactive audio entertainment studio, developing content based on its own IPs, such as Cursed Painting, Escape 63rd to mention a few and a number of licensed IP from world leading publishing houses/IP owners within interactive audio games and interactive audio books, like The Bard’s Tale from inXile and Pathfinder from Paizo.
The platform Fabella can be used to produce interactive audio engagement steering games, audiobooks, education and devices with your voice. Its a develop once and publish everywhere concept and we are enabling customers to release solutions to smartspeakers, smartphones, tablets, web, embedded devices and more.
The company has its development studio in Boden, Sweden and creative and business development offices in Stockholm and Seattle. Wanderword’s mission is to inspire the world to become active listeners and through its rich and diverse portfolio and is committed to delivering seamless and engaging stories to users of all ages and abilities.
Your new challenge
As a Back end System Developer you will be in a team of 4 developers for Wanderword’s industry leading platform Fabella, used to develop interactive audio entertainment and utilities products. You will be at the bleeding edge of voice controlled entertainment and devices and services development with a great team in a very flexible role. The role includes developing the back end as well as ensuring a structured and organized development process. The platform will be used for both in-house content development as well as be licensed to 3rd parties, which will mean having a good way of structuring your support and maintenance.
With Fabella, customers can produce once and present on both Alexa, Google Assistant and smartphones as well as embedded devices. If you have the competence and interest, you will therefore be able to work on both system development for smart speakers as well as our app development for smartphones.
Who are we looking for?
We think you have two years or more of proven back end system development experience. You have worked within cloud solutions (AWS/Azure etc). You have good English skills and excellent initiative, self-motivation, and problem solving skills with the ability to work in a team. You are comfortable with working with REST frameworks and APIs
You might have a degree in computer science or similar and we also think that you are passionate about learning everything about our products.
